Vadim Zadorozhny Technical Museum, Krasnogorsky District, Moscow

Russia's largest private museum, this is a huge collection of cars, motorbikes, tanks, guns, and aircraft, restored to a superb standard, and with great facilities. The founder, Vadim Zadorozhny, bought the collection of the Yakovlev museum, so there are many Yaks here, including several unique examples.

Yakovlev AIR-1 (VVA-3) replica R-RAIR Aleksandr Yakovlev's 1st powered aircraft, named and registered to flatter A I Rykov, a senior official. Replica built by Yak for its 50th anniversary in 1977.
Yakovlev UT-1 (AIR-14) Unmarked The AIR-14 was a fully aerobatic sport aircraft, but entered service as the UT-1 fighter trainer, with some used as operational fighters.
Yakovlev UT-2 (Ya-20) 3 yellow Mainly wooden transition trainer. (The AIR name was dropped after Rykov was executed.) Over 7,000 built from 1938, some armed.
Yakovlev Yak-1 None Developed from an original 1938 project, the I-26, over 8,700 built 1940-44.
Yakovlev Yak-3 Unmarked Ultimate development of the Yak-1 - Yakovlev's last piston-engined fighter. Over 4,800 built 1944-6.
Yakovlev Yak-9 Unmarked Development of the Yak-1 and main Yak WW2 fighter - over 16,700 built 1942-8.
Yakovlev Yak-15 37 yellow Developed in parallel with the MiG-9. A Yak-3 with a Russian copy of the Junkers Jumo. Both types first flew on 24 April 1946. Sole survivor.
